The cosseting air suspension and sumptuous armchair-like seats add to that sensation of being disconnected from the outside world – this is a supremely comfortable car to both drive and be driven in. If that latter aspect appeals greatly, then you might be tempted by the long-wheelbase Range Rover with increased legroom in the back, plus the options of Executive Class rear seating with electrical adjustment massage function and a fridge in the centre console. Should you buy one? Absolutely. The new facelift Vogue, from a keen driver’s point of view, might just be the best SUV in the world at the moment, and the SDV6 is just the engine to enjoy (and abuse) all of its brilliance. Smooth and soundless on the motorway, high and mighty in traffic, inevitably brilliant off-road; and now a genuinely entertaining steer when the mood takes you - the Vogue (with all its option boxes ticked) has a wonderful capacity for rising to any occasion.
